Cricket World Cup 2023: England’s Downfall, India’s Dominance Continues.

Ind vs Eng: cricket world cup 2023

Cricket World Cup 2023 Highlights: In the ongoing World Cup, the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, maintained their excellent performance by defeating England by a whopping 100 runs in a match held in Lucknow this past Sunday.

Rohit, leading by example, scored a solid 87 runs from 101 balls, contributing to India’s respectable total of 221/9 on a challenging pitch. England, on the other hand, struggled against India’s bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah. They were all out for just 129 runs in 34.5 overs.

In addition to Rohit’s performance, Suryakumar Yadav also played a key role in the Indian innings, scoring an important 49 runs towards the end. Mohammed Shami, fresh off a five-wicket haul in the previous match, continued his good form by taking four wickets in his seven overs. Jasprit Bumrah also had a great game, with figures of 3/32. The spin pair of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav also contributed, taking three wickets between them.

India, having won all six of their matches, are leading the pack with 12 points. On the other hand, England, with just a single victory from their six games, are at the bottom of the standings in the ten-team tournament.

Despite showing promise in more than half of the game, England’s previous losses seem to have drained the confidence from their once formidable batting lineup.

India’s bowling was top-notch and the pitch was challenging, with both turn and uneven bounce. England’s top order crumbled after Malan was bowled by Bumrah.

Root came out to a deafening crowd, with horns sounding and Indian flags waving, only to miss a straight ball. He appealed the decision, thinking a slight spike on the review system indicated an inside edge, but the third umpire didn’t agree.

Stokes struggled against Shami before he was bowled out. Captain Jos Buttler was dismissed by a fantastic delivery from wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, while Moeen Ali was caught out on 15, becoming Shami’s third victim. Liam Livingstone was the top scorer for England with 27 runs.

This marks the fourth consecutive time England has been bowled out in this tournament, and their performance seems to be deteriorating. They scored 215 against Afghanistan, 170 against South Africa, 156 against Sri Lanka, and now just 129 against India in Lucknow.

Their next match is against long-time rivals Australia in Ahmedabad on Saturday, which could prove to be a crucial game.
